Previously, Steve served as Chief Creative Officer and Partner at Woodruff Sweitzer, a brand-building and marketing firm with offices in the United States and Canada. His leadership was instrumental in shaping campaigns for multi-national clients such as Diamond Pet Food, Bayer Animal Health, Novartis Animal Health, and Versatile Tractor Company.
Throughout his career, Steve has contributed to high-profile creative projects for brands like Nissan, Reebok, Sony PlayStation, Nickelodeon, Absolut Vodka, and Energizer at Chiat/Day. His work on the General Motors EV-1 at Hal Riney earned an Emmy nomination for its TV spot. His achievements also include multiple awards from the One Show, Cannes, Andy Awards, Clio Awards, and Kelly Awards, as well as the national launches of Sprint PCS and Sony PlayStation in the United States. Adweek recognized several of his campaigns as among the Best of the Decade.
In 2006, Steve founded the Roots N Blues N BBQ Music Festival in Columbia, MO. Since then, the festival has hosted over 700 national and international acts and drawn more than 1,000,000 fans.
As a brand ambassador, photographer, and storyteller for clients such as Garmin International, Duluth Trading Company, LUMIX cameras, and Eagle Creek Outfitters, Steve has leveraged his expertise to promote products through social media, blogs, and global expeditions.
