I worked for ESC (now ESU) from early 1993 until 2021, when I retired.
My duties varied - I was Assistant to the Dean at the Van Arsdale School of Labor Studies in Manhattan until 1999. I transferred to the Northeast Center in late 1999, where I served as the Technological Support Specialist, and since I had a graduate degree, also with duties in the delivery of classes in several areas of CIS and related fields including programming, both at the Center and through the Center for Distance Learning of the college internationally. During the final 5 years of my service, I transferred to the Coordinating Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, and served in central technological support, primarily in student support, on the phone, in chat, and in email. I continued to teach, but with fewer students, as the requirements of the central support position took more resources than had been used at the Northeast Center.
Since I retired at 62, I returned to the workforce at the State University once I turned 65. I am now teaching half time for SUNY Schenectady.More...
