Millicent Walker is the Chef Director and Owner of Cooking Canvas – a recreational cooking school whose tagline is Making Every Plate a Colorful Masterpiece. She has always been passionate about food, freshly prepared meals, and feeding others. Her passion led her to study culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in Chicago. She is also a Certified Nutrition Coach by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Certified Food Safety Manager. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at University of Illinois and her MBA at Governors State University.
She has embraced a career where she can focus on developing menus, meal plans and catering services that offer nutritious meals. It has always been very important to her that people know how to prepare, present, and market both fresh and scratch-made menu options so that they are encouraged to eat a variety of foods, colors, flavors and nutrients.
