My experience has mainly been as a consultant. I began my career at one of the world's top engineering consultancies, starting as a bid manager/team coordinator writing winning proposals. I progressively rose to become a client-side project manager with a keen interest in the environment and technology. I am a doer, so whenever I spot an opportunity to improve a process, I have this urge to seek out the simplest solution. I don’t know, I just can't help it!
I primarily worked with governmental bodies, PLCs, and asset managers where my blend of interpersonal and technical abilities has been instrumental in overseeing a diverse array of projects: from simple, single-site locations to complex, multi-site schemes valued at up to £5 billion. I consistently ensured adherence to budgets and timelines. I am particularly proud of how these experiences enhanced my abilities in stakeholder management and clear communication.
My curiosity about the finance sector eventually led me to transition into a role as a broker, where I believed my personality was best suited. I naturally came across as trustworthy, friendly, and fully engaged. However, my growing interest in technology and sustainability inspired me to start a company in Norway with another founder, I met at the end of 2013. Here our mission was crystal clear: develop products and services to empower real estate owners with a deeper understanding of how to transition to a sustainable future. We aimed to simplify their lives by eliminating the need for extensive research when dealing with Energy services, EV charges and Telecoms.
As a CEO/CTO, I juggled diverse responsibilities—from data analysis, labelling and visualisation, and recruiting to crafting sales and marketing strategies, mass email campaigns, budgeting, and keeping a tight grip on cash flow.
