Prior to founding LTV Capital, Dario was a Principal at Anthemis, a market-leading global fintech investor, where he was responsible for fund investments. During his early tenure at Anthemis, Dario built and invested into early-stage embedded finance plays in partnership with BBVA. He then co-led the development of a first-of-its-kind fund supporting media founders, to financially empower creators in industries traditionally known for their extractive practices.
Before joining Anthemis, Dario was an early employee at emerging markets fintech JUMO, where he helped spearhead the company’s early international expansion efforts. He was also involved in the joint venture creation of Ringier One Africa Media (ROAM), which is now Africa’s largest classifieds group.
Dario received a double undergraduate major, in Business Science Finance & Accounting (FCA), and a Master of Business Science in Finance, from the University of Cape Town. His dissertation, “Tencent Holdings Limited: An IPO Case Study,” was completed in record time, has been downloaded 10 000+ times and has been cited in numerous scholarly publications.
Most recently, Dario was recognised as one of the industry’s “40 Rising Stars under 40” by Venture Capital Journal.
Outside of work, he is an ex-125cc motorcycle road racing champion. He is also an advisor to the Finetwork Mir Racing Team, supporting talented young racers competing in the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, as the final step on the 'Road to the MotoGP', where is actively involved.More...
