W. Gene Powell is President and Chief Creative Officer of SPOKE — a Toledo-based digital agency specializing in branding, usability and findability for life sciences firms. After nearly two decades in design and advertising, he launched SPOKE to help organizations build digital platforms that influence, empower and convert customers.
An award-winning designer, Gene’s interactive, film and print work has been recognized by AIGA Detroit, STEP Inside Design, the Toledo Ad Club, the e-Healthcare Leadership Awards and the Communication Union of Norway.
His philosophy is simple: users are in control. Brands work best when they create one-to-one relationships and put customers in the driver’s seat.
Gene co-founded Seed Coworking and StartUp Toledo, both recognized hubs for the region’s creative and entrepreneurial community. He is a graduate of the BGSU School of Art and lives with his family in Perrysburg, Ohio.
