I began my career as a geriatric social worker in a short-term rehab facility, where I supported older adults through transitions of care and discharge planning. After earning my nursing degree, I gaining broad clinical experience on an oncology unit before specializing in vascular access and joining the hospital IV team. As an IV nurse I focused on improving patient outcomes through precise device placement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
After four years in the hospital, I transitioned to the corporate setting, serving as a clinical support specialist for vascular access devices at BD. In this role, I provided hands-on training and education to clinicians, helping improve competency and device utilization, which contributed to increased product usage. Most recently, I have returned to direct patient care, working as an independent contractor inserting vascular access devices in nursing homes, where I continue to blend my clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach.More...
