When I began attending Cameron University in 2022 at 31, I wasn’t just a student—I was a veteran, a mom, and a determined lifelong learner. On May 9, 2025, I proudly walked across the stage with my B.S. in Information Technology (Cybersecurity), powered by efficiency, balance, and determination. I’ve qualified for a grant to sit my CompTIA Security+ exam in August 2025 and tested proficiently at the Practitioner level for the ICCP ISA certification in Information Systems Analysis.
As Project Lead for our 17‑person capstone team, I discovered that building secure systems is as much about people as it is about code. Working side‑by‑side with our front‑end designers, I dove into PHP—troubleshooting our WordPress integration as deadlines loomed—while crafting MySQL schemas tailored to our client’s data needs and layering in SHA‑256 encryption plus fine‑grained access controls. The real win, though, was bringing three distinct sub‑teams into sync and watching that community thrive under pressure.
Outside the tech world, I’m co‑owner and primary instructor of S.L.A.M. Lawton‑Fort Sill, where I’ve grown our women’s fitness community through themed workouts and monthly events. My leadership was forged as a veteran—delivering mission‑critical meal operations with precision—and as a military spouse, managing household logistics, finances, and childcare solo during extended deployments.
