I come from an information communication technology security background and recently studied Fashion Design at LISOF, Johannesburg. I then ventured into the entrepreneurship sector, specifically fashion retail and design. I owned and managed a stand-alone boutique where I imported women’s ready-to-wear clothing. This then led me to design, manufacture and manage my own clothing line called Oscar and Rose (PTY) Ltd. As a stakeholder, I • Managed client expectations and liaisons. • Developed and implemented the business strategy, including stock management, supplier management, employee training, PR and marketing, sales analysis, display optimization, and competitor analysis. • Successfully attracted new clients and increased customer footfall, resulting in a growth in sales. • Designed and decorated the boutique to reflect the brand's identity. Since living in various countries, I have acquired skills in adapting to new situations, people and cultures. I have also benefited from being multilingual, thus being able to communicate in several languages. With over eight years of cross-cultural experience in three countries and residing on three continents, including travel to over ten countries, I have adapted to international markets while still meeting local requirements. I am an observant; as well as a coordinated and analytical person, demonstrating that I can strategies and focus on specific tasks. As part of managing a business, I developed a PR and marketing plan that included publication in print and digital media and participation in fashion shows as a participant and curator, respectively. I am also a Security Management graduate at Algonquin College, Ottawa. This has given me the ability to get a broader and general view of security analysis based on best practices such as; BS 7799 (ISO/IEC17799).
