I have had a vast range of experience in the Marketing Communications and Channel Marketing fields. I have supervised projects from concept through completion such as print collateral, web and trade show presence. This includes graphic design, video editing, vendor management and budget supervision. I have managed interns and other departmental personnel to grow the capabilities of an in-house MarCom department. I have also planned and managed major trade shows that require sales skills and the management of booth personnel.
In my current position Kohler’s engine division, I am the Global Channel Marketing Manager for our dealer network. Not only did I grow this position from the ground up, I have built relationships with vendors and key customers to help with the evaluation and implementation of all channel activities. I work with three dedicated distributor partners, as well as Kohler’s OEM sales team, to create programs, collateral, and marketing tools to help our dealers better sell Kohler to their customers. I am responsible for rolling out a key Loyalty Program initiative, branding kits and display program, as well as working on end-user programs and events to drive pull through the channel. I spend a large amount of time with customers at their dealerships and during trade shows (prior to COVID-19) to fully understand their challenges to develop solid solutions. Since COVID changed the world, I have had to innovate how we contact and interact with our customers to keep the exchange of ideas and needs flowing. My largest accomplishment is implementing a loyalty program that tripled sales over 3 years.
The world changes daily, and as a marketing manager in channel or in communications, understanding how to stay connected to customers while finding cost-effective solutions is critical. In my career, I have learned how to not only achieve this, but how to do it without losing the perspective of a customer.
