Scott Paton is a writer, journalist, broadcaster, researcher and archivist whose portfolio spans the realms of Academia, Biography, Education, Entertainment, History, Lifestyle & Culture, Nonprofit, Science & Technology. Commissioned by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) in 2006 to draft their online biography, Paton also created dozens of chapters on history and science for the Smithsonian/National Academies of Science’s curriculum division.
His broadcast work has included writing and production of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40, and 10,000-plus hours of broadcast programming for Dick Clark Productions, ABC, CBS and Westwood One. In 2009, he wrote, produced and co-hosted with Smokey Robinson a series of documentaries celebrating Motown Record’s 50th Anniversary, and illuminating the legendary label’s impact on American culture of the 1960s and the Civil Rights Movement.
As of 2024, Paton crafts broadcast and online initiatives for the social services divisions of the State of New Jersey’s Departments of Children & Families, Consumer Affairs, Corrections, Environmental Protection, Gaming Enforcement, Higher Education, Health & Human Services, Labor, Public Utilities, Securities and Treasury.
