Ben Momat is a senior energy and infrastructure professional with more than 18 years of experience across Central and Southern Africa. He currently serves as Non-Executive Director of Afrik Experts and Non-Executive Director of KARAPH, providing strategic oversight in EPC delivery, engineering consulting, and energy project development.
A former ABB engineer, Ben has built a multidisciplinary career spanning utility systems, HV/MV networks, renewable energy, and commercial leadership roles. He has collaborated with international partners such as Wärtsilä, SparkMeter, NRECA International, and others on major energy initiatives including rural electrification, grid modernization, and industrial power solutions.
Ben has also held executive roles—most notably as Commercial Director at Nuru—where he led commercial strategy, stakeholder engagement, and clean-energy portfolios. His expertise covers regulatory compliance (ARE, ANSER, MRHE), financial structuring, and navigating complex public–private power environments.
A PMP-certified professional, Ben is completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management & Administration at Stellenbosch Business School, complementing prior energy leadership studies at Wits University.
