I am a graduate of Cal State, East Bay with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Human Development. I spent the last few years working for Marriott, Hilton, Wells Fargo, Planet X, and an overseas import/export coordinator, honing my data gathering, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
During my time at Planet X, a fullservice media production and marketing agency, my role was a Marketing Manager for the San Francisco Bay Area. This primarily entailed representation of their major client, Tanduay Rum, which is the largest selling rum brand in the world. In this role, I prospected various accounts to carry the rum and pitched them on product sales, helping to grow the Bay Area market footprint by almost 30%.
While working with Wells Fargo, I worked with my colleagues to restore the reputation of the company post-scandal through delivering exceptional customer service, the use of fee reimbursements, as well as researching and pursuing various infractions that have gone unnoticed.
While working overseas as an import/export coordinator, I confirmed that the orders of construction materials such as rebar, sheet metal, honeycomb cladding, and factory machinery (laser precision cutting) between the Philippines and China were in compliance with customs rules and regulations. This opportunity continued to hone my interpersonal skills as I was almost always out connecting my suppliers with new opportunities and contacts.
During my time at the Marriott, I started at a smaller Courtyard property which allowed me to gain experience with every department as the roles were shared between every associate. After moving to the Marriott Marquis Chicago, I was able to continue honing my skills at the Front Office by providing impeccable service to every guest that was checking in to our property. I transferred over to the Events department as a Concierge, where I worked hand in hand with our Facilities and Banquets departments to make sure that our client’s events were running smoothly.
