I’m Ana, a Colombian journalist and filmmaker based in New York. I studied Documentary Filmmaking at NYFA and have directed, filmed, and edited several impactful projects — including The Hollow (2022), a short documentary that follows the journey of a South American immigrant crossing the border in search of the American dream. I also worked as a second camera and interviewer assistant on a documentary for World Vasectomy Day, directed by Jonathan Stack, where I helped film and conduct interviews during a multi-city road trip.
My strongest skillset lies in video editing and storytelling. I’ve edited a wide range of content — from documentary and social media reels to TV shows and branded content. I’m hands-on throughout the entire process: from pre-production and shooting to editing, color correction, and final delivery. I’ve built and managed content strategies from scratch, working solo and with no budget, and still achieved strong engagement results by focusing on emotional, real, and original storytelling.
Currently, I’m also one of the founders of Owlee Café & Studio, a creative coffee shop and production space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We support the creative community through art exhibitions, workshops, and content creation.
