Many consumer product companies encounter leadership friction not because performance declines, but because expectations change. I operate within businesses navigating operational strain as they move from founder-led growth into investor-influenced or governance-led execution, often following new capital, recapitalization, or portfolio integration. As Co-Founder of Lowell Farms Inc., I helped guide the company from private enterprise through public listing. As industry conditions shifted, I was appointed Chief Operating Officer by the Board and later Interim Chief Executive Officer, working alongside private equity and institutional investors through a recapitalization of the business. In subsequent years, I led a multi-year restructuring initiative that included the negotiated resolution of a $35 million secured note using operating assets to stabilize the company’s capital structure. Earlier in my career, I founded Pastry Smart, an American Humane Certified and Organic commercial bakery in San Mateo, California, producing nationally distributed retail and private label brioche programs for Whole Foods Market. Across my career, I have supported portfolio companies on commercialization strategy, manufacturing cadence, compliance-driven operations, and post-acquisition integration. I hold dual U.S. and Italian citizenship and support organizations across North America and the European Union through Mark L. Ainsworth Consulting (Luciano Global Ventures).More...
