Dr. Jennifer Ugochinyelu Chukwumerije is a seasoned public health specialist and field epidemiologist with extensive experience in malaria prevention, pharmacovigilance, and health systems strengthening. She currently served as a Technical Specialist for Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) at Malaria Consortium, where she lead implementation support, operational research, and digital health innovations across nine Nigerian states. A graduate of the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (NFELTP), she has applied her epidemiologic expertise in disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and public health emergency preparedness and response. Dr. Chukwumerije also worked at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) where she previously served as Chief Regulatory Officer and Malaria Focal Person and contributed to the development of national pharmacovigilance frameworks, malaria treatment guidelines, and risk management plans for antimalarials. She has also served as a member of the WHO’s AVoHC-SURGE network of Rapid Responders, supporting emergency health missions and capacity building for epidemic preparedness on the continent.
