Elbert Garcia is a writer and multimedia producer with over 20 years of executive communications experience in narrative strategy, content marketing, and team management across media, government, non-profit, philanthropic sectors. He is passionate about building the power of leaders, non-profits and communities to educate, communicate and collaborate. through shared goals and impactful initiatives.
Born and raised in Washington Heights, Garcia has been blessed to have a career that has included everything from leadership developement work with high school students in the city to writing for music magazines like the Source to web and video production at WNBC and the New York Times. I have worked for powerful elected officials like Rep. Charles Rangel and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as well as provided strategic communications consulting to grassroots social justice movement groups in Florida.
Most recently, I served as the Director of Strategic Communications at the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP), a DC-based advocacy organization dedicated to challenging grantmakers to be transparent with, and accountable to, the communities we serve.
At such a crucial moment in our nation's history, Garcia is continuously looking for opportunityies to help lift up community voices and experiences, especially that of people of color and immigrants.
