I’m Julie Monniot-Gaillis, a dual citizen of the USA and France with a diverse background that combines international law, humanitarian assistance, and operational leadership. I’m passionate about creating social impact, particularly in the areas of human rights, humanitarian aid, and financial inclusion for underserved communities.
I’m currently pursuing an LLM in International Law at the University of London, specializing in International Criminal Law, and have an MSc from the London School of Economics in NGO Development and Humanitarian Emergencies. Along the way, I’ve completed advanced training with organizations like UNITAR, the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law, and the International Institute of Humanitarian Law, which has deepened my expertise in international justice, human rights law, and disaster law.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across both private and non-profit sectors. As the founding partner and COO of Mosabi, a mobile financial and business learning platform, I led efforts to improve financial inclusion in emerging markets. We launched successfully in several regions, collaborating with institutions like Société Générale and FINCA, and in 2018, I was proud to see our company win the Global FinTech Hackcelerator at the Singapore FinTech Festival.
Before that, I worked as Localization Manager at MyFitnessPal, where I helped the app expand to 120 countries, contributing to its eventual acquisition by Under Armour. I’ve also worked in international humanitarian law with the American Red Cross, teaching and disseminating IHL and collaborating on trainings for organizations like the International Rescue Committee. My teaching roles in Mexico and Bosnia further shaped my understanding of global education, human rights, and crisis management.
