Stefan is a dynamic Project Manager with over two decades of experience in operational management, security coordination, and logistics in complex environments across Central and East Africa. He was recently employed as Project Manager for SNA / AUSSOM Logistics Support in Mogadishu and Baledogle, Somalia, with Amentum/PAE, where he managed multi-department operations supporting a 600-person DANAB special forces facility and training base. His responsibilities included overseeing logistics, life-support services, maintenance operations, air operations coordination, procurement, budgeting, and security liaison with AUSSOM, US Department of State, and Somali partners. He also developed and implement security and emergency evacuation SOPs, maintained situational awareness, and ensured operational compliance with contractual and duty-of-care requirements.
Prior to this role, he held multiple senior security and operations positions across Somalia, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic, including Operations Manager for PAE programs supporting MINUSCA and counter-terrorism training operations. In these roles, he managed operational platforms in conflict environments, conducted risk assessments, coordinated security providers, supported emergency evacuations, and maintained strong working relationships with government authorities, UN partners, and international stakeholders.
His background as a South African Paratrooper combined with extensive field experience in humanitarian, diplomatic, and development support environments has given him a practical understanding of risk management, crisis response, and duty-of-care obligations in fragile contexts.
