After a career working mostly with nonprofit and trade organizations, I began JMDuffy Consulting allowing me to share my experience with entrepreneurs, small business owners and board of directors around the world.
I am passionate about helping leaders and entrepreneurs sharpen their focus, evolve the conversation, drive consensus, and transform their organizations and communities. I approach every interaction seeking to create space for others to learn, share, grow, and succeed.
Accomplishments while in this role:
Negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Pendleton, Oregon Chamber of Commerce and Pendleton Downtown Association within 100 days. This MOU established a long-range goal of the two organizations co-locating to streamline and enhance their effectiveness on behalf of their respective members in the marketplace. Organized a planning session between the two Board of Directors to establish a long-range strategic plan for business development and sustainability. This plan included metrics to measure the effectiveness of each committee, special event, and fundraising strategy.
Directed a community initiative called Live 360 in Billings, Montana. This organic initiative provided individuals, groups and nonprofit organizations space at Rimrock Mall to share their passions with the community. Organized community stakeholder focus groups to identify what kinds of activities would be of the most benefit and with the outcomes developed programming dedicated with the highest impact for the property and community.
Counseled 23 Farmers Insurance agency owners across central Montana to provide guidance and assistance as agents develop their business plans. In addition, responsible to support new Acquisition, Seed and Retail program agents, helping these capitalized agents to be successful from day one. Facilitated a 10-week NxLevel Business Planning course with 11 new agency owners.More...
