Samina Mehar, BASc. Electrical Engineering, MASc. Sustainable Building Sciences, PMP, LEED AP BD+C, LC is Founder and principal of Illume Consulting Inc., Samina’s decision to start her own firm was based on a deep commitment to fully integrate best practices in illumination, project management and related education at more affordable cost to businesses and individuals during these trying economic times of COVID 19.
Prior to establishing the firm, Samina has over twenty years of combined Municipal Government as well as Private Sector Project Management experience providing expert oversight to ensure projects are on-time and on-budget. She is experienced in leading multi-disciplinary project teams for large projects of diverse scope.
Samina has effectively applied project management methodologies and implemented project strategies by researching, analyzing, and evaluating existing methods, procedure and protocols to ensure overall business needs are addressed in design-build projects. Over the past ten years she has established herself as a specialist for LED Conversion Projects for both interior and exterior spaces including roadway lighting. In the course of her career, Samina has met the challenges of a range of commercial, institutional, and residential projects, and has developed a complete understanding of building types, architectural styles and uses of space. Her project portfolio includes educational buildings, gymnasiums, office spaces, residential spaces, landscape and roadway lighting.
Raised in Asia, her well travelled diverse artistic background includes design experience in interior design and textile design. Outside of her professional scope, she is a talented designer of custom jewelry. Her innate creativity and technical ability have contributed to Illume’s projects in the educational, commercial, and residential fields. She is an avid learner as well as instructor of lighting design, project management and sustainability courses at various forums during her professional career.
