I am a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience. Since qualifying I have taken on a variety of finance roles including Financial Management, Group Accounting and Tax, Management Accounting, Business Performance Analysis and Reporting. This variety of roles existed in difference sectors including Automotive Manufacturing, Manufacturing, Engineering Consulting, Agriculture and Food Manufacturing.
My career thus far includes working for Parsons Brinckerhoff Africa from 2010 to 2014, including managing the Quality Services Division for 2 of those years, based out of the Durban office.
My most recent roles have been at Illovo Sugar Africa, which is major sugar agriculture and manufacturing business with seven operations in Sub-Saharan Africa. These roles include being a Business Performance Analyst in their Group Finance department responsible for business partnering with my assigned operation to support on financial reporting, budgets and forecast preparation to help inform the executive management in decision making. I was also a Value Lead supporting the value management of a ZAR4bn Transformation Project to extract value from within the business over a 3-year plan. This role required me to quickly learn about a large operation and its legacy processes and by working with the project team, place the business on a path to improved profitability at its seven operations.
Areas include procurement spend, organizational restructure, agricultural and manufacturing processes. I then moved onto a role as a Strategy Analyst in the Strategy Execution Office where my main tasks are management of the Strategic Execution Portfolio of Initiatives or Projects for the whole group, creating insights to inform the execution on where and what needs focus to execute on the business’ strategy.
In my current role I now help the group of Companies assess the viability of major projects and business opportunities by supporting the development of the business case and financial modeling.More...
