Janet Khabbaz is the Stormwater Manager at Hunsaker & Associates, San Diego, where she leads innovative water management projects aimed at enhancing urban resilience. With over a decade of experience in civil engineering—and more than six years specializing in stormwater engineering and management—Janet has spearheaded initiatives that have significantly reduced flood risks and improved water quality across the San Diego region and Riverside County.
She works closely with FEMA on flood map revisions and plays a key role in ensuring projects comply with local, state, and federal water regulations. Janet is recognized for her expertise in sustainable infrastructure and her collaborative, solutions-focused approach, which has positioned her as a thought leader in the stormwater management field.
Janet holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University. She has passed the International Professional Engineering Exam and is currently in the process of obtaining her California PE license. She has also passed the exams to become a Qualified SWPPP Developer and Practitioner (QSD/QSP).
