Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Qais Khoury stands at the crossroads of creativity and craft. Moonlighting as the founder and director of Hot Soap Studios, he not only creates his own deeply personal music but also provides a world class platform for artists to shape and share their sound.
An independent touring artist since the late 2000s, and one of multiple aliases (Pinwheel Valley / Nativalien / Tea Dragon), Qais earned a diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering from London’s Point Blank Music College in 2014, the same year he performed in the Mayor of London Big Busk. With a full band, he went on to tour Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle in 2016 and 2017, garnering a Canadian Best Out of Province nomination at the 13th Annual Toronto Independent Music Awards.
His work has continued to gain international recognition, including Best Music Video wins from global film festivals. The last few years saw him featured in magazines like CLASH, METAL, Kaltblut, NOTION, Earmilk and Billboard Argentina. Qais’ music has been celebrated on air as well, with a BBC Radio London interview, multiple appearances on Ireland’s national broadcaster RTE 2FM, and spins on NPR Music.
With his artist collective, Qais remains dedicated to crafting music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
