Hello, I am Cristian.
I'd like to present myself to you as a very entrepreneurial and creative individual with lots of knowledge in different areas related to tourism and food.
I currently own a hostel in an amazingly beautiful part of the world called Todos Santos, located in the wild and solitary desert of Baja California Sur. The place is teeming with life, art, and energy, and has become a referral point for this up-and-coming tourist town, but now I am looking to spice things up and start opening up new paths in my life.
My career path throughout the years has been related to food and tourism since the start. I have a bachelor in International Business from a well known university in Puebla, Mexico called the Universidad de Las Americas, here I learnt the ropes of management and entrepreneurship, to think in numbers and make strategies, but then followed my passion for the Culinary Arts, graduating as a professional chef from College LaSalle in Montreal, Quebec. I lived the bohemian rockstar life during these years, traveling the world, cooking and being a foodie, braising meat in Rio de Janeiro, smoking salmon in Voss (Norway), Nixtamalizing heirloom corns in Mexico, giving gastronomic tours in the Canary Islands, and picking grapes in wineries in Bourgundy, France. Living the good life, enjoying the flavors of the world, and human culture, one dish at a time.
Working with food so closely naturally pushed me into having an interest not only in how to make delicious food, but how to obtain these ingredients most sustainably. I managed to obtain a Master's in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Barcelona, and a whole new world opened up for me, starting a vertical farm in Montreal, then human rights organizations for migrant workers, to later opening a fairtrade tortilleria back in Baja California Sur.
As you can see, I am very entrepreneurial, creative and outgoing. I am sure my experience will be of great value in the right company.
