I'm desperate to do the most good for the most people. My background is in the non-profit and start-up space. I thrive in chaos and never want my job title to be able to encapsulate all that I do in a day. I have a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley in Political Science, a minor in English, and a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Northwestern University, with a specialization in non-profit management. I am also a graduate of the Arena Academy organizing track. I have worked at one of the most transformative and novel start-up non-profits in the country, Hope Chicago, for over three years and nearly since its inception. I started as a Development Associate and am now at the Manager level, having built out their Salesforce instance and operationalized their CRM. I also introduced and implemented Classy as the giving vehicle, and used technology and creativity to launch an annual gala that raised over a million dollars in the first year, nearly doubling in the second. Until the recent addition of a dedicated grants manager, I also applied for and managed all grants for the organization. Previously, I held a similar role at Women Employed where I also weathered the pandemic and the chaos of shifting to virtual fundraising events. All of my various positions have been hard to articulate completely are different every day - my preference! It has made me able to figure almost anything out. In addition to direct professional experience, I also have experience as a freelance editor and graphic designer. I’m not a pro but I’m better than most!More...
