My name is Frank Taylor and I have a variety of skills that can be utilised in remote work. I graduated from Monash University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science/Bachelor of Science (Honours). During my honours year, I studied horizontal gene transfer in the bacteria Helicobacter pylori through evolution experiments. I graduated with First Class honours, with majors in genetics and zoology.
After graduating, I worked for 4 years in a food chemistry laboratory in quality assurance. Focusing on milk, I analysed samples on IR spectroscopy machines, plated bacteria and tested for antibiotics.
In 2019, I enrolled at La Trobe University to complete a Master of Teaching (Secondary) as part of the Nexus program. The Nexus program targets teacher retention in hard-to-staff schools (rural/regional and low SES). I completed my Master of Teaching (Secondary) in 2021.
I have been a secondary science teacher for 5 years in Victorian schools, both in the public and independent education sectors. I have experience in teaching year 7 and 8 general science, and year 10 and 11 Biology. I have experience in trauma-informed education, literacy and language for learning (3L by Lexis Education) and using technology in teaching.
I have experience in a wide variety of software. I have experience in both MacOS and Windows OS. I am adept at the most common Google Suite programs (docs, sheets, forms, Gmail and Google Drive) and Microsoft Word. I can do simple formulas, filtering and conditional formatting on Excel.
