I am Co-Founder and Director of Chaperone (www.chaperone.online), a social impact company, with the mission of democratizing access to high-quality career development in science.
Chaperone already empowered scientists from more than 40 nationalities and is trusted by 40+ prestigious institutions such as EMBL, Karolinska institutet, European Commission Joint Research Centres, Gulbenkian Foundation, and many more.
In addition to my role at Chaperone, I am a former Life Sciences Academic Researcher in the field of Stem Cell Biology. I was award my PhD with distinction from studies on stem cell niche dynamics, developed at the Salk Institute, San Diego, California.
I worked in three countries (Portugal, UK and USA) and experienced different roles in academia, industry and non-profits. I co-founded two professional associations, and one startup.
I have also worked as a Policy Advisor at Health Parliament Portugal and as External Consultant at the Ministry of Health, Portugal.
