I have been involved in the Information Technology sector since 1999. I am passionate about leadership and skills development in organisations. My Doctoral Thesis explored the relationship amongst culture, ethnicity and leadership development programs in South African organisations and led to the development of the Leadership Development Matrix. This topic overlaps significantly with the area of skills development and knowledge transfer programs both of which are relevant globally but especially in the South African context.
I have designed and deployed a number of formal Knowledge Transfer Programs, most notably at the South African Reserve Bank.
I have been an entrepreneur, driving skills and business development and growth for the majority of my career.
Over the past two decades I have presented several business-related conference papers, sat on expert panels discussing trends in Business and Technology, publishing articles and been a guest on radio shows.
My most recent consulting engagement was with Stellenbosch University.
I was initially responsible for planning and guiding the Production Cutover to the new ERP (Oracle Cloud Financials) - SUNFin. I also worked with the internal and external auditors to extract data and provide feedback on any exceptions found.
I played a similar role on the SUNStudent Project where I guided a global team. My role, however, evolved where I also assisted in reviewing key reports for validity and reliability. In some cases, I also developed work arounds so that pivotal business functions could continue. An example of this is with the Bursary data and the NSFAS statutory reporting.
I was also a member of the Steering Committee.
My role within GroKlub is to manage the financial aspects of the various Business Units. This includes setting the annual financial targets, compiling and preparing the company budgets, and ensuring the operational transactions are captured correctly in our ERP system.
