I started my professional career as a research scientist studying coronavirus genetics at the University of Pennsylvania. In the next phase of my journey, I co-founded a direct-to-consumer genetic testing and telehealth genetic counseling service. After my exit, I then took the entrepreneurial management and technology skills I learned in the start-up world back to academia. For the next 10 years, I used my science, technology and entrepreneurial skills to help leading researchers in gene and cell therapy at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to modernize and scale their pre-clinical and clinical trial research operations. To realize my vision of a modern lab, I conceptualized and led the development of a software application for digitizing and automating regulatory compliance requirements in clinical trials. I moved to Berlin Germany to commercialize this application after it was licensed by Berlin based start-up Labforward.
