David Abingdon is a dual Australian and British businessman who has taken four businesses from zero to multi-millions each in less that 12 months. Two of these operated in the UK and Australia as well as many other countries. Business Development Highlights As a business development consultant, marketing specialist and author, he has directly or indirectly helped hundreds of companies around the world generate huge increases in their revenues. For one client, he built a new division and made them a recurring £35 million from zero in just two and half years. In his own businesses he launched a virtual insurance firm, Insurety PLC, a company which he took to £4.5 million in its first year. To do this he recruited a direct sales force of over 200 commission-only agents and utilised some of the marketing and product development skills he’d previously acquired by designing and revamping several traditional insurance and finance products. One of these, a self-funding superannuation product, was still being sold until recently throughout Australia by a large Sydney-based insurer. Later, David consulted with an insurance brokerage and developed new products and distribution for them as well as generating a multi-million pound windfall. Franchising Successes After selling Insurety, he launched and led the UK based Quantum Organization, a franchise which he also opened up in Australia and subsequently in several other countries including New Zealand, Ireland, Portugal and India. The company achieved a market value of £11.2 million in its first 9 months of operation. He sold the company four years later and developed a new business consulting franchise called the Alchemy Network. This company achieved in excess of a million pounds turnover in its first year and was also launched into Australia, NZ, USA and throughout Europe.
