Stephen Minichiello Producer, Director, Writer 508-277-2114 Stephen Minichiello Producer, Director, Writer Steve Minichiello's professional career has ranged from classroom teaching to radio and television production to comic strip writing. His radio specials were nationally syndicated, his television productions have won Emmys, and the weekly comic strip he wrote was nationally and internationally syndicated. Steve began his television career sixteen years ago and has written and produced for WBZ-TV, WGBH-TV (PBS) and WCVB-TV, Boston, including the nationally syndicated newsmagazine, Chronicle. Two entertainment productions he conceived and segment produced, The Beatles: Yesterday & Today and Michael-Mania! were nominated for Emmys. In September of 1992 his critically acclaimed documentary on youth and violence, Lost Hopes, Shattered Dreams, was broadcast on PBS. This production earned him an Emmy nomination, as well as a Silver Apple Award from the National Educational Video Festival. He also received an Emmy nomination, as well as an international Telly Award, Nat'l Assoc. of Gov't Communicators Award and the San Francisco Film Festival Award for a 1995 PSA entitled, Alone. In January of 1997 PBS aired his most recent documentary on teens with HIV/AIDS entitled, +positive voices. An animated PSA he wrote and produced on Fatherhood won an Emmy in May 1997, was an International Telly Award winner, as well as an ITS International Monitor Award finalist. In 1998 he was honored with three Emmy Nominations; and in 1999 he won an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Public Service Announcement, for a spot entitled, Wish. He also received two Emmy Nominations for year 2000, and another in 2003 In print, Steve wrote the highly successful Biography weekly Sunday comic strip. Biography was printed nationally in 116 newspapers, and internationally in eighteen countries and translated into four languages.
