Richard is a seasoned multimedia and front-end development professional with a diverse and expansive career that bridges technology, creative production, education and technical leadership. With experience spanning over two decades, he has built a unique interdisciplinary skill set that combines software development, animation, instructional design and project management.
He most recently served as Tech Lead – Front End Development at BIG RED Communications Group (2013–2019), where he led performance enhancements for digital display advertising, developed dynamic and programmatic ad services, and streamlined digital workflows. In this role he also managed teams, oversaw project production and client engagement, and delivered technical briefings, training and documentation.
Since 2011, Richard has been the Owner, Producer and Animator at Rich Multi Media, directing custom animation projects from concept through to final delivery with creativity and technical precision.
Earlier in his career, Richard produced bespoke multimedia training content as a Multimedia Training Producer with SECUREcorp Pty Ltd (2006–2011) and developed offline and remote training solutions as a Training Multimedia Developer at RMIT University (2001–2004). He also contributed as a Sessional Lecturer at RMIT University (1997–2003), tutoring engineering subjects including CAD, computer modelling, civil planning and metallurgy, and supporting web and animation development.
Richard’s background includes practical design and construction experience, having worked as a Designer and Builder of tensile membrane structures and as a CAD/CAM Operator, grounding his creative and technical capabilities in real-world engineering and production environments.
