Tom Kelchner is a 33-year veteran of public education, with the bulk of that served in the Dallas Independent School District and the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District. He has worked in nearly every level of education, from a teacher to assistant principal, dean of instruction, principal, and executive director positions.
Tom earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University. He has a Master degree in Special Education from the University of Texas-Dallas; a Master degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas; and, a Doctorate in Education from UNT.
He works as an educational consultant for Project Education, Inc. Tom is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Baytown, having served in various Board positions, and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as a District 5890 Assistant Governor for three years. Tom was named Baytown Rotarian of the Year twice and received the David Kadjar Service Above Self Award in 2023.
