He studied Philosophy and Literature with a specialization in Literature at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He took a postgraduate course in publishing at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. He was assistant manager for the Promotion and Tourism Services of the National Tourism Corporation of Colombia, to which he was linked for more than ten years. Editor of Op Gráficas and manager of the Fondo de Publicaciones Infantiles y Juveniles. For eight years he was editor of El Sello Editorial, a company dedicated to the publication of large-format illustrated books (on art, heritage, ecology, architecture). He was editorial director of Convenio Andrés Bello, an Ibero-American cooperation organization, for six years, where he was in charge of the editorial coordination of a large group of titles in the areas of science, technology, education and culture.
Since 2010 he is the founder and director of Editorial Maremágnum, an independent publishing house and consulting office that carries out publishing projects of its own and for various institutions, museums and cultural foundations. He has been the editor of the libraries of Afro-Colombian Literature and Indigenous Literature and of the Library of Traditional Colombian Cuisines, publishing projects of the Ministry of Culture with more than forty titles.
In 2015 he edited the book Nereo. Saber ver, the most extensive compilation ever made on the photographer's work. He wrote the book La palabra y el fuego, about the life and work of the great gastronome Lácydes Moreno Blanco and several articles for magazines and newspapers in the country. He was part of the editorial committee for the publication of the Basic Library of Colombian Culture of the National Library (130 titles in digital format). Editorial advisor for the Universidad del Norte. Advisor to different public and private entities on cultural and editorial issues. Lecturer and speaker on publishing and cultural topics in different forums and events.More...
