Holding a PhD in Modern Literature, a Master's in Philosophy, and a DEUG (two-year university degree) in Arabic, he has developed a multifaceted career in the publishing and creative worlds. His professional journey is structured around several major axes: As a publisher, he founded Éditions Gentiane (1982-1983), then co-created Éditions Aedena with Jean Giraud (Moebius). He subsequently collaborated with prestigious publishing houses like Casterman, before creating éditions i in 2016, where he currently serves as president. As a renowned scriptwriter, he notably adapted Sulitzer's works into comics and collaborated with famous artists like Moebius and Taniguchi. He also contributed to writing radio plays for France-Inter. His career as an essayist and translator is marked by a particular interest in Sufism, illustrated by his work "A Sufi Woman in Islam: Rabi'a Al-Adawiyya" (2009). He translates major comic books and philosophical essays from Italian and English.
