My career spans more than 30 years in computer system engineering, integration, and administration. I'm a passionate advocate for open-source computing and am setting a new standard for how to implement robust computer systems that efficiently process large amounts of data. I've spent the majority of my career in federal government industry, gaining extensive experience in multiple Linux operating system distributions, High Performance Computer (HPC) systems design and implementation, and computer virtualization engineering, assembly, and maintenance.
I've received numerous awards for innovation and technical leadership and ingenuity. I've most recently been honored with recognition for my contributions to the Ocean Ecology Laboratory's 'Poseidon' HPC & Virtualization Project in support of the NASA PACE mission (Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem), as well as at the Space Weather / Heliophysics Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.More...
