Thomas Millioto
Musician, Teacher, Producer/Sound Recording Engineer @Self Employed
Verified
Dr. Thomas Millioto is a versatile professional whose working life has crossed into the fields of education, music, sound recording engineering, real estate, and law. His guitar classes and individual guitar instruction garnered him a teaching excellence award from the City University of New York Hunter College. This singular annual award is reserved for one of approximately 600 adjunct professors. As a self-employed music teacher, music director, and sound recording engineer/producer, Thomas helps others to actualize their musical goals and dreams. His Atelier music workshop participants have performed at New York City venues. His students have gained acceptance into college, high school, and youth music programs. Thomas’s Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Classical Guitar Performance culminated in an ambitious doctoral recital where he played three different instruments consecutively. This recital was also validated by the outside juror Benjamin Verdery of the Yale School of Music. At the white-glove real estate firm of Brown Harris Stevens, Thomas has operated confidently for a decade within the professional frameworks set up for that environment. The highly regulated real estate industry in New York City requires a thorough understanding of, and training in, many parameters including: technology systems, fair housing laws, business ethics, cultural sensitivity and sexual harassment training, firm policies and procedures, and changes in the law implicit in continuing education requirements and firm communications. This business acumen has been constantly tested in actual business situations through constant interpersonal interactions. Other work highlights include: Working as a paralegal at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, as a teacher at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and as a sound recording engineer at the Eastman School of Music. Trained and experienced in demonstrating grace under pressure, Thomas is a natural communicator with creative approaches to navigating both abstract and personal landscapes.More...
