I grew up in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, in fact, my great-grandpa has a street named after him, Fanning Way. I spent a lot of time at my great grandparents house eating See’s candy, drawing and taking dress-up trips to the De Young Museum. After I finished high school, I moved to Southern California to study Graphic Design at Cal State University Long Beach.
After college, I worked at the various award winning design studios such as Engle + Murphy and Curry Design. At Curry Design I had the opportunity to work with such clients as Columbia Pictures and The Television Academy - Emmy Awards
After Curry Design, I went on to work for other entertainment studios, such as Warner Bros and Paramount doing movie campaigns and DVD packaging/key art work with associated collateral material and POP materials. I also worked on Corporate Collateral Material such as Capital Research Annual Reports. It is there that I found my love for branding and style guides. We had the challenge and opportunity to set new standards in place for a very established corporate Growth Fund company. Once established, it was a beautiful end result and I feel in love with seeing a look come across all the elements. Later I had the opportunity to work for Disney Interactive Studios, focusing on event design graphics for the E3 video game conference.
Soon after I founded and managed Mee Design, a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary design studio focusing on studios and brand identity systems. Some clients include the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the Lincoln Claremont University, RISD, Warner Bros., Paramount, Colombia Pictures and individual clients such as Yum Brands, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Caruso, Imax, Zevia and Franke Coffee Systems. I've worked with amazing and inspiring designers, engineers, copywriters and development folks at places like Disney Interactive Studios, CDA, TBWA Chiat Day, Studio Rainwater, Elle + Elle and GelComm.
