A classically trained musician, Elizabeth has worked in the arts for over twenty-five years. Her communications work in Los Angeles includes serving as Director of Public Relations for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, where she oversaw media relations for the orchestra’s various performance seasons, the Hollywood Bowl and ultimately the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Elizabeth moved on to launch her own firm, Hinckley & Co., and later the culture and education division of Rogers & Cowan, a global entertainment public relations firm. Concurrently, she served as an adjunct faculty member at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism. Her client list included the Museum of Contemporary Art, the LA Chamber Orchestra, and the Colburn School, among others. She also served as Senior Vice President at Ogilvy, working primarily with First 5 LA.
Today, Elizabeth focuses on organizational transformation for institutions, from non-profits to Fortune 100 companies. She worked for XPLANE as a senior consultant on clients including Google, Red Bull, Lowe’s, Nike and Zero to Three and with her current company DefCult on not-for-profits including UCLA, the San Diego Symphony, Zero to Three, DePauw University School of Music, The Music Center of LA, Chicago History Museum, Vincent Price Art Museum and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
