Brian McHale boasts a distinguished career across enterprise, mid-sized, and start-up environments, with extensive experience in various global markets. His professional journey spans Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, and the UK, where he has built a robust network of top-tier talent.
Brian’s career began with a decade at MCI Communications (now Verizon), where he managed technology operations for a $13 billion revenue stream and a $100 million budget, leading over 300 global professionals. Following his tenure at MCI, he became VP of Information Technology at Discovery Communications in the UK, overseeing teams of over 100 worldwide.
Upon returning to the US, Brian joined Starz Entertainment as VP of IT, a division of Liberty Media Corporation. He played a crucial role in the technical aspects of significant mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition of four Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) from FOX and the creation of DIRECTV Sports Networks LLC.
Brian then took on the role of leading Engineering and IT at Fisher Communications, a $600 million media company. After Fisher’s sale, his former CEO, who later became Chairwoman of American Apparel’s board, invited Brian to serve as CTO. In this role, Brian was pivotal in revitalizing American Apparel, facilitating its acquisition by Private Equity, and its subsequent sale to Gildan Inc.
Brian’s expertise was further recognized when the CEO of CBS Radio enlisted him as SVP of Information Technology, where he led the division through its sale to Entercom. Returning to Colorado, Brian reunited with his former CEO and the Chairwoman of American Apparel to co-found a SaaS startup, which has since been sold to investors.
Currently, Brian advises clients on Cyber Security, Business, and Digital Transformation and is exploring new senior technology roles across the United States.More...
