I’m Natalie Cadena, a seasoned education professional and writer with over 13 years in public education and 15 years of experience in professional writing. I hold an Ed.S. in Education Administration and currently serve as a district-level special education director, where I oversee both in-person and virtual instructional staff. My role focuses on compliance with IDEA and OCR regulations, staff development, and program evaluation to ensure that students receive equitable, high-quality services.
In addition to my work in education, I’m the Executive Director of Gravel & Grit, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit dedicated to transparency, accountability, and rural advocacy in Arkansas. Our organization emerged in response to the proposed construction of a 3,000-bed mega-prison in Franklin County, and I’ve spent the past year digging into legislative records, infrastructure plans, and financial reports to educate the public and hold decision-makers accountable.
I’m also a writer with a background in both creative and professional writing. Over the years, I’ve written everything from advocacy pieces and editorial content to grant applications and educational resources. My work is rooted in a desire to make complex information accessible and compelling… whether I’m telling a story, explaining a policy, or highlighting the voices of everyday people. Writing is not just a skill I use; it’s a tool I rely on to inform, connect, and inspire action.More...

I currently work as a district-level education administrator. I write content for professional development that targets teachers, related service providers, administrators, and parents. Earning my Ed.S. in Education Administration required proficiency in doctoral level research and technical writing on topics related to education with an emphasis in special education.
In my current role, I use my analytical skills to research products for purchase in my district, assess and train staff, and ensure legal compliance with all applicable IDEA and OCR laws and practices. I currently supervise teachers practicing in both seated and virtual courses.
Additionally, I have fifteen years of experience in copywriting, ghostwriting, content writing for websites, and more. I completed the CCA course for copywriting best practices and am certified in SEO through HubSpot.
I would love the opportunity to put my skills to use for your brand. I look forward to discussing in more detail at your earliest convenience.More...
