I am a mid-career educator and creative director who is looking to maintain an up-to-date portfolio. My experience is primarily related to publishing, branding, music industry, and overall advertising campaigns encompassing a range of materials—from print to web to commercial photography. Video, mobile, and interactive are not necessarily a part of my hands-on knowledge base but I certainly understand how to integrate those aspects of advertising design into an overall campaign. I am also a decent writer although, by no means would I consider myself a copywriter. I enjoy the brainstorming and idea formulation aspects of what I do more than anything else. My education is very broad in the humanities, sciences, and fine arts so I bring a wide range of ideas to an organization. As I mentioned, I am also an educator who has taught a range of graphic design and photography courses in higher education settings. I am also a natural leader who treats others respectfully, even when faced with less than ideal circumstances. I would summarize my character, my personality, and my experiences accordingly: • I have a passion for listening to, understanding and engaging people. • I have over ten years of experience managing people, projects, budgets, and deadlines. • I have been and enjoy being on the front lines of client and agency-facing work. • I am typically someone with whom both clients and fellow employees genuinely enjoy working. • I have been leading and teaching designers and design students for over 15 years. • I am self-motivated, needing little supervision. • I have 10+ years of strategic advertising experience in advertising agencies. • I have significant graduate-level university course work in psychology and human behavior. I also have a Master of Fine Arts degree in design/drawing and photography. • I have excellent interpersonal skills. • I have a passion for solving problems. • I set goals and keep to-do lists in order to effectively multi-task.More...
