I have forty-four years of experience as a trial and appellate attorney. I started practice as an Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County, Illinois in the 1980's. From 1990 to last year, I worked in civil litigation representing railroads in casualty and commercial claims, defending civil rights claims and working on commercial and intellectual property cases. I have participated, mostly as first chair, in well over one hundred jury trials to verdict. I have done hundreds of depositions of every kind of fact or expert witness. My work included extensive appellate advocacy and other legal research and writing. I was an owner, partner or member of four Chicago law firms where, in addition to my trial and appellate work, I trained and mentored other attorneys. I have recently retired from the full-time practice of law and I am looking to do part-time project work involving motion practice, appellate briefing and other pre-trial work such as taking depositions or preparing pre-trial motions.More...
