My professional path started as an assistant to a commercial photographer while I was getting my bachelors degree in Communications.
I bounced around at some freelance jobs until I changed directoon.
I started my career in retailing as a visual merchandising manager for a department store based in Pittsburgh. I eventually became a regional visual merchandising manager in Upstate New York covering Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse for 18 months. I then took a job in New York City with Ralph Lauren as an Account Manager. In this position I learned how to deal with difficult customers, and how to market based on specific locations and demographics. After the 9/11 attacks my wife and I decided t return to Pittsburgh.
I returned to photography as a photographer and stylist for a catalog studio that was the first all digital studio in Pittsburgh. After 3 years I took over the operation of the studio becoming a partner with the parent company.
It was here that I learned the various disciplines of digital marketing in the early 2000’s.. Unfortunately with the Recession of 08 we were forced to cease operations of the studio.
Through a former client I took a job as an account executive for a marketing agency. Here I grew my understanding of digital marketing, Specifically Email and Social Media marketing.
I eventually moved on to an Online Education company as their Director of Marketing and Product Development.
This led to my most recent position as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for a software company.
I have continued to grow my skills through different classes and courses focused on various marketing, writing, and design skills. I continues to seek resources that give me the opportunity to grow my knowledge and skill set.More...
