Betsy Podsiadlo is a composer, performer, educator and producer living in Richmond, Virginia. An Adjunct Professor of Voice at Randolph-Macon College and with a thriving voice and violin studio here in Richmond, Betsy's passion for sharing the transformative power of music touches every part of her creative life. In 2024, Betsy became the Director of Advancement and Administration for City Singers Youth Choir in addition to joining their teaching staff as the Director of the Progressing Choir. Betsy is a founding partner and Creative Director of Art Grove Newsletter with her partner and managing editor, Tom Jakob where interviews on balancing a creative career with the reality of life are conducted with artists across the country. Betsy received her Master's in Voice from the Mannes School of Music and her Bachelor's in Voice from Westminster Choir College. In 2023, Betsy was named the Mellon Producing Fellow with Beth Morrison Projects and was awarded a 2023 Big Ears Festival scholarship. In 2024 her Lux Aeterna with fixed media premiered on New York City's WQXR, she premiered a new cabaret song for voice and piano with the Central Virginia Chamber Music Society, and continues to write choral commissions for churches and professional choirs.More...
