Shameeka Marie Gonzalez-Gamboa joined the Neighborhood Association for Inter-Cultural Affairs, Inc. (NAICA) in 2011. She held various positions within the fiscal department and in January of 2019 she was appointed Chief Financial Officer. As the CFO, she oversees all aspects of the organization’s finances including; accounting and financial reporting, development and management of budgets, audits, financing, contracts and grants administration, and reporting to NAICA’s Board, funders and regulatory agencies. She has recently ventured into real estate management as the organization has obtained full ownership of its first affordable housing project. She plays a crucial role in the organization’s long-term strategic planning and the organization’s ability to meet its mission.
Shameeka, brings to the organization more than 20 years of financial management experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on developing policies and procedures to improve performance and productivity. Before joining NAICA, Shameeka assisted several organizations define their strategic direction, prepared new business plans, streamlined financial and procedural policies, and created monitoring and accountability systems.
Shameeka is a graduate of Long Island University having achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. She completed her master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Mercy College. She was able to achieve this milestone within one year of registration while serving as the Director of Finance for NAICA. Shameeka graduated Summa Cum Laude and inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Honors Society for Business.
