Thais Siqueira is a dedicated and talented chemical engineer currently working at CETEM Company. She has a rich educational background, having graduated in Chemical Engineering from UFRJ. This year, she completed her Master's degree in Chemical and Biochemical Process Engineering from UFRJ. Thais has demonstrated exceptional expertise in her field, demonstrating proficiency in several aspects of chemical engineering, including materials science, process engineering, and chemical reaction engineering. She is known for her analytical mind and problem-solving skills, which allow her to approach complex engineering issues with effective and innovative solutions. Her activities at CETEM consist of executing Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) projects in the area of mineral beneficiation in partnership with the productive sector, in addition to developing tests and research related to several unit operations applied in mineral processing (grinding, screening, hydrocycloning, magnetic separation, spiral concentrator, concentration by flotation, filtration), aiming to maximize process efficiency. Project management: development and analysis of beneficiation routes for strategic minerals (niobium, phosphate, iron, zinc, lead, gold) in partnership with companies in the mining segment. Interpretation of characterization results to define the process route: granulometry, release (MLA), chemical and mineralogical analysis. Preparation of chemical solutions for application in experiments. Conducting bench-scale and pilot-scale flotation tests in mechanical cells and columns. Preparation of samples for chemical analysis, calculation of mass and metallurgical balance of the process and development of mineral processing flowcharts based on the results obtained. Bibliographic survey of mineral beneficiation routes to define the project and preparation of technical reports as the final product reported to the R&D and Process departments of mining companies.
