This belief has guided me through every step of my career, from grassroots neighborhood work to leading a major nonprofit. I lead by serving – and by rethinking systems – to create sustainable change that puts people first.
Career Highlights: I’ve been fortunate to wear several hats in service to my community. At Brightmoor Alliance, I united nearly 50 local organizations to revitalize a struggling Detroit neighborhood , helping coordinate efforts to reduce crime and blight. In the City of Detroit’s Mayor’s Office, I served as Director of Strategic Initiatives , spearheading programs to spur job growth and economic opportunity. In 2014, I took on the fight against hunger as CEO of Forgotten Harvest, one of Michigan’s premier food rescue nonprofits. For eight years, I led our team to rescue and distribute tens of millions of pounds of food annually to families in need , all while focusing on innovative solutions to improve food security and community health . These experiences taught me how to build partnerships, innovate systems, and maximize impact for those who need it most.
