Richard Alvin is a distinguished British entrepreneur, investor, and media executive renowned for his significant contributions to the UK’s business landscape.
As the founder and Group Managing Director of Capital Business Media (CBM), he has been instrumental in transforming the company into a diversified media powerhouse. Under his leadership, CBM has expanded its portfolio to include prominent titles such as Business Matters, Travelling For Business, Not Ltd, Stay and Improve, Property Portfolio Investor, and EV Powered. Notably, EV Powered produces the weekly “Everything EV” podcast, which consistently tops charts in its category. 
Beyond publishing, Alvin serves as the chairman of Trends Research, a specialist business research firm that originated as a partnership between the Telegraph Media Group and CBM. Acquired outright by CBM in 2006, Trends Research focuses on analyzing the UK’s SME sector for clients ranging from government bodies to major telecommunications companies like O2 and Vodafone.
